Darla's Hair Care and Spa started out as a dream of a small town family-oriented salon, with just a few stylists designed to serve the community and their hair needs. It was built on a strong reputation of a friendly and warm, yet professional, staff and a welcoming environment for everyone that walked through the door. Today, we boast a staff of over 15 employees, which includes receptionists, stylists, nail technicians, massage therapists, and estheticians, so we can now fulfill all the personal care needs of our customers.
In 1987, I opened my dream and today I feel as though I am still living it! As owner and operator I have loved all the employees and clients that have graced my doorstep and chair. Darla's Hair Care & Spa wouldn't be what it is today without the dedication of my team and the support of our clients.
I started my career at Darla's Hair Care and Spa 29 years ago, as the first employee. It has been a joy seeing all the changes over the years ( clients, styles, and salon ). I love my clients and it's been a pleasure doing their hair. I also love that everyone wants something different. That's what I enjoy most about my job; the diversity of my clients, makes everyday different. I enjoy spending my down time at our home in the mountains with my husband of 16 years and our family. I have a son, Shaun who is married and has made me a mimi to our grandson Tanner. I enjoy gardening and our family times.
I have had the pleasure of working at Darla's Hair Care and Spa for over 30 years. Building a close relationship with my customers is something I have always strived to do so that I can meet their individual hair care needs. Getting to know each client on a personal level helps me to make their visit comfortable and enjoyable. When I'm not busy at the shop I love spending time with my two children, Maddie and Joe, hanging with friends, or relaxing with a good book.
It's hard to believe that I have been working at Darla's Hair Care & Spa for over 20 years. I started as a receptionist while I was in Cosmetology school and became a stylist after I graduated. I enjoy meeting new people and the opportunity to help them with their hair care needs. When I'm not at the salon, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our son Marshal, and our daughter Mariah.
I have been in the beauty industry for over 19 years and I can't think of a better job. I love the diversity it brings to my life. One of my passions is education, I love passing on my knowledge to client. I really enjoy total transformations. I love cutting modern styles and pairing them with a color to create a whole new look. Something you may not know about me is I grew up in the salon as a little girl and yes, I was the girl in school who colored her friends hair. Who would have ever known?
I have been a hairdresser for the past 14 years. All of that time has been spent here at Darla's. I enjoy coming to work every day, with the goal of making my client's look and feel amazing. Having the ability to be creative while conversing with my wonderful clients drives me and makes this my dream job. Above all else the most important thing in my life is my husband Ray, and our daughter Madelyn. Our favorite way to spend quality time together is to pack up our camper and get away for the weekend. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful career and a family who loves and supports me.
Not many people can say they were raised in a salon but I sure can! I spent my childhood in this salon folding the towels, cleaning color bowls and watching all the girls; dreaming of my day to be a stylist. I love helping my clients escape their busy lives, while achieving a look that fits their personality. I love that a trim or full head of highlights can completely change the way a client feels when they leave my chair. I have a Bachelor's Degree from Penn State University in business management. I enjoy using my degree to work on our salon business needs. I have an awesome husband, Eric, and we are enjoying our son Bennett who was born in July of 2019.
I graduated from Empire Beauty School And have been a stylist for 14 years; I have worked at Darla's for 5 of those years. I enjoy many different aspects of my job, from meeting new people to working with variety of color and styles for all ages. I am married to my wonderful husband of 9 years. we have 3 energetic boys; Colbey (8), Camryn (5), and Cooper (2). I love spending time with my family and we enjoy the outdoors visiting parks and vacationing in Florida.
I received my cosmetology license from Willow Street LCCTC while completing my senior year of high school at Lampeter Strasburg in 2008. I immediately began my career as a hairstylist that summer. I am married to an amazing man and we have a precious baby girl, Harper Valentine. One of my passions is antiques! I love anything old that has character and history behind it.
I never imagined being a hairstylist would be so rewarding. For me, it is not just a job. It is more like a hobby! Highlighting, coloring and cutting are my favorite things to do. I love doing the inverted bob. It has so many variations and looks great on anyone!
Stylist & Esthetician
I have loved my job at Darla's for over 4 years total! I am a cosmetologist as well as an esthetician and love both aspects of my job. Creativity with color is my passion but I do love the relaxing atmosphere of doing facials with products that I stand behind. The salon and spa is my outlet and I can't say that there is anything that I don't love! I like to think of my life as one big adventure; hiking, traveling, and really anything new is what keeps my life exciting!
I was born and raised in the Lancaster County area and I knew growing up that I wanted to stay local. When I graduated from cosmetology school, 9 years ago, I immediately started at Darla's Hair Care and Spa. I love so many aspects about my job but one that I am passionate about is doing updos. Updos can range from so many different looks and I love the excitement that comes with each bridal party or prom queen! Working at Darla's has made it easy to come to work and raise a family at the same time. I am a proud mom of a three year old girl, Piper Rae and a 1 year old girl, Paisley Grace.
While working in the dredges of the corporate world, I decided to leave it behind, go back to school, receive my cosmetology license, and join the family fun! I graduated from Empire Beauty School in 2010 and have been working at Darla's ever since. Working at the salon has brought me great pleasure and I love creating new styles and new looks and meting new people! I am married and have three beautiful girls Eleanor, Amelia, and Juliet.
I've been doing hair for over 7 years. Short fun cuts, beautiful color, and fun highlights are what I enjoy the most. I love that my job allows me to build relationships, meet new people, and help them feel good about themselves. I strongly believe no one comes into your life by accident, so I enjoy building relationships with my clients and seeing just how they are meant to work in my life. When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband Dan, our daughter Maisie Jae, baking, going to the beach and enjoying the outdoors.
In 2014, I graduated from Lancaster School of Cosmetology. Growing up with an older cousin as a hairstylist, I would sit in her chair and think " That's what I want to do when I grow up." I now find myself working with the most wonderful people. I've always had an interest in art; the salon serves as a creative outlet for me. Some of my favorite things are special occasion and bridal styling, highlighting and coloring. When I'm not at the salon, I love to spend time with my husband, our son Oliver, and our daughter Ella.
I have been doing hair since 2016. The beauty industry is my passion. Helping my clients reach their dream hair style , while giving them my personalized attention, is my ultimate goal! I love to see the confidence it gives people when their hair looks amazing and they feel beautiful! My hope is that everyone who leaves my chair feels loved, confident, and ready to take on life!
Working at Darla's is like coming home. I was born and raised in Paradise, graduated from Pequea Valley. I am very happily married and between us we have 4 children, 8 grandchildren and one diabetic dog. My husband calls her Cujo, they are a blessing to me. After many years of trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life I visited Lancaster School of Massage; I knew immediately this is what I wanted to do. I had worked at fitness club while my kids were young so I knew how the muscles worked. Now I would learn how to help them recover. My entire family loved helping me with my home work during school, now they never get a massage. I have been in this field for 11 years now. In addition to working at Darla's, I go to group homes for the mentally and physically challenged. My goal with them as well as my clients at Darla's is to help with their physical and helping them to attain total well being.
I graduated from Lancaster School of Massage in 1999 with a certificate in Massage Therapy. Over the years, I have used this to work in chiropractic offices and spas in Chester, Delaware, and Lancaster Counties. I also worked as a massage therapist while attending and graduating from Neumann University in 2006 with a bachelor of science in Athletic Training. After graduating, I found myself working as an aide in a physical therapy clinic and attending graduate school at West Chester University for Health Care Administration. These plans came to a halt when my family and I moved to Haiti to be missionaries. Being a missionary in a third world country can really change your life.
I believe that trauma can come in many forms and cause physical pain in the body. As a Massage Therapist, it is my job to listen to my clients, evaluate my treatment plan, and utilize my skill set to alleviate their pain.
My high school sweetheart and I have been together for over 20 years and married for 13 years. We have 3 beautiful kids. We enjoy spending time with our extended families, playing sports, and traveling.
I have always enjoyed giving "back-rubs" to my family members. They often commented to me that massage therapy would be a good profession to pursue. After hearing that enough times I finally decided to check it out.
I'm a Lancaster County native and graduated from Lancaster School of Massage in September 2014. It turned out there was more to massage therapy than "back-rubs". Learning the many different techniques and modalities has been rewarding. Meeting new people, developing relationships with clients, and helping people improve their overall well-being is very fulfilling for me. Working here at Darla's has been a great experience. Our team is always encouraging and uplifting, making this a great place to practice massage therapy.
I was born and raised in Lancaster county and graduated from Baltimore School of Massage in August 2009. My interest in this field quickly became a passion. Working in the wellness industry like this is completely rewarding. Each day I have the chance to meet new people and help them in whatever way I can. It is honestly a joy to come into work and use my gifts to bless others. Though I have yet to live anywhere besides Lancaster county, I have traveled to five different countries. I love the various cultures we have in this world and I plan on traveling a lot more, specifically for ministry purposes. My favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 61:1-4.
I believe that beauty is much more then what we see with our eyes. Escaping the day to day run around and being taken to a place of total relaxation and comfort is a thing of beauty. This is one of my goals as an Esthetician. As a Practitioner in the field of skin care I find it my responsibility to educate every client in ways they can protect, preserve, and pamper their skin. I take a great deal of pleasure in serving my clients. I look forward to every service I have the opportunity to provide. A few of my other passions are my faith, my family, and health & wellness.
I have been doing nails for 14 years, the last 7 of them here at Darla's Hair Care & Spa. I have been married to my husband Jay for 18 years and am a mom to 4 sons: Isaiah, Malachi, Nehemiah and Zacchaeus, so coming to a job where I can be all girly makes my heart sing! My favorite services to provide are pedicures! When I am not at the shop you can find me on the sidelines cheering on my boys sports teams or rooting for the Phillies and the Sixers.
I am happily married with three wonderful children and 3 beautiful grandaughters and one on the way. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends at the beach or at our cabin in Tioga County. I’ve been working as a receptionist at Darla’s since February 2009. It have been a rewarding experience for me to meet new people and embrace the challenges of answering the phone, scheduling appointments, and ordering products.
I have been a part of the team at Darla's Hair Care & Spa for over 4 years. It is an honor to serve and assist the clients and stylist of the salon. I am grateful for the opportunities and friendships that have grown from being a part of this amazing family.
I have been working at Darla's for 6 months, but have always been apart of the team. Being Darla's youngest daughter I have grown up at the salon. I am a very social person so I love being able to help clients and interacting with new people everyday. I am a junior at Pequea Valley High School and am heavily involved in theatre, dance, and voice. I am also a dance teacher at Cavod Academy of the Arts. I am very thankful that I am able to work at the salon with my friends and family.
I have been working as a part time receptionist for a little less than one year. This job has created a chance for me to branch out and see what I would like to do in the future. I am truly blessed to work in such a spirited environment with incredible people.
This year, I am a sophomore at Pequea Valley High School. I enjoy playing guitar, drinking coffee, and spending time with friends and family.
I graduated the Lancaster School of Cosmetology in the summer of 2020 and joined the wonderful team of stylists here at Darla's. I love practicing highlights, balayage, fun updos, and trending haircuts. When I am not at Darla's, I enjoy spending time with my husband, serving at our church, and traveling with our family business, Freedom Farm Tables.
I have been the receptionist at Darla's since 2018. I am a people person and have loved getting to know all of our clients! It is fun being part of such a close knit work environment and community. I am also the wedding coordinator for the brides that choose us for their special day! I love working with bridal parties to make sure they have an amazing experience and that everything runs smoothly for them. I have been married for 15 years and have 4 beautiful girls. They keep me plenty busy, and there is never a dull moment in our house!
I graduated from cosmetology school in 2018 and have been doing hair ever since! I joined the Darla's team in the summer of 2019. I am so thankful for the coworkers I have! Ever since I was a little girl I have wanted to do hair. I actually came to Darla's to get my hair done back then! Every time I sat in that chair and watched Molly cut my hair I knew that's what I wanted to do when I was older. Now I am working at the place I loved coming to as a child and I still love every minute I am here! Some of my favorite services to give clients are balayage, highlights, color and updos!
Lancaster County has always been my home and most of my life I've been involved in agriculture. I've always had a passion for nails, hair and skin, but it wasn't until my mid 20s when I decided to go to cosmetology school. I love the creativity of doing hair and especially enjoy unique and fun colors, as well as eyelash extensions, nails and esthetics. In my free time I love traveling, listening to music and I love animals.
